Who am I?

Taken in Japan 2010
My name is Raymond. You can call me Ray, Raymond, or RayRay, but a simple Ray is just fine. I am a simple city boy living in the heart of downtown Toronto. A recent graduate from Ryerson University and once an aspiring actor. I have enjoyed a lot of the things this city has to offer. However, one thing which intrigues me the most are the diverse communities found throughout the heart of Toronto. You can always learn a thing or two from the different cultures and ethnicities.

So what does diverse communities have to do with this blog? For starters, I need to let you know that I am a food person. Born into a Chinese and Spanish family, you can say the fusion of Latin American food and Chinese Cuisine is surely one odd mix. However, if you truly want to say that you are a food lover, you have to be open to anything and everything. Eating the same thing over and over again is almost like driving the same road to work every day. If you do not try and explore the different roads, how will you know that there exists a faster route or better yet a road with no traffic? The only way to find out is to explore and try different alternatives. The same goes for food, how will you know that you enjoyed something if you haven’t tried something new?

As a kid I was fed Chinese food on certain days while on other days of the week I was fed Spanish food. I did not think much of it as a kid but now because the city is so diverse and everyone is out trying new things, I guess you can say I was lucky and fortunate to have been fed the ‘world’. Growing up, I eventually found out that I needed to try new things only because what I was eating at home was not providing the excitement that food had once given me. So at 14 years old, I had my first taste of Italian. At 17, I had my first taste of Korean and at 20, I had my first taste of Indian. Every time I tried something new my mouth just exploded into an orgasmic feeling of flavors and new tastes. Because the experience had given me such a great sensation, I had to recommend and suggest the new types of food and restaurants to my family and friends.

I wouldn’t say that I developed a reputation of being a critic, but I can surely say that what I have recommended to my peers had definitely provided them with a positive experience. Therefore, tdotoeatswello will be a blog dedicated to providing the readers of the blog my experience and thoughts of different restaurants and types of food that I recommend. It will provide an insight for someone who has not been to a particular establishment and may want a second opinion. So if you are looking for a new restaurant to dine at or is looking for a second opinion tdotoeatswello may be the blog for you.

In the meantime, Eat wello and enjoy.
